As all the global arcthitecture, doesn?t matter where is the fashion show. what really matter is to stay there.

Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners creates colourful football stadium for Caracas

Early designs have been released for an eye-catching new football stadium in Caracas, Venezuela by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSH+P) as part of a wider development within Hugo Chavez Park. British architect Richard Rogers will oversee the design and construction of the football stadium and another arena for baseball.

The stadia will be part of the Hugo Chavez Park - named after the former President of Venezuela - alongside the existing La Rinconada racecourse and the Museum Alejandro Otero.

Little is known about the design of the stadia thus far, with reports suggesting that the football stadium will host 50,000 spectators while the smaller baseball stadium will have a capacity of 45,000.

Earlier this month, Richard Rogers visited Caracas to meet with the city mayor Jorge Rodriguez to discuss the development. During this visit the architect was presented with the key to the city.

Rogers has been quoted as saying: “I think the important thing is to recover spaces for recreation, for the good of the people, that city dwellers feel that they can enjoy the environment, either with walks, or alone or in groups. And these stadiums are just such recovered spaces.

"They will say that I came for political reasons, not - on the contrary - to do my work as an architect in search of the benefits found in the environment.”
