Mace, SPb Renovation and Bryden Wood scoop £1bn Gutenborg project in Russia

A £1bn contract for delivery partner of the expansive Gutenborg project in St. Petersburg, Russia has been won by international firm Mace. The team will provide project management, design management, cost management, construction management and technical supervision on the scheme. Plot Architects and Chassis Designers & Engineers the scheme are Bryden Wood.

Rob Ewen, Director at Mace, said: “We are thrilled to have won such a challenging and significant project that will inspire change in the residential infrastructure of St. Petersburg by delivering a better standard of both accommodation and living experience through the quality of design and construction performance.”

The scheme includes the creation of 780,000 sq m of residential space housing 25,000 people, with 15,600 apartments supported by 3 schools, 5 kindergartens, a polyclinic and all infrastructure including roads, transport and utilities.

The wider development will encompass 9 districts of which Gutenborg is the first. Over twenty years the project will create these 9 districts and sub-divide them into 22 city blocks over 900 hectares.

Mace will be working as delivery partner to client and specialist company SPb Renovation who they have worked with on two previous commissions.

Arthur Markaryan, CEO of SPb Renovation explained: “We have worked with Mace to develop our internal systems for our overall programme of works and also set the implementation strategy for the Gutenborg project.

“Mace came on board and from the start demonstrated that they shared our vision and values to deliver change in the residential market in St. Petersburg by raising the bar in design and delivery performance standards.”
