Innovative technologies sought for £20m Sustainable Building Exhibition Centre
Sustainability-focused product manufacturers and innovators of eco-centred technologies will be given a platform to showcase their new developments at the £20m Sustainable Building Exhibition Centre in Changsha.
Part of the new community of Meixi Lake Eco-City (masterplanned by Kohn Pedersen Fox) the Sustainable Building Exhibition has been designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley as an exemplar of sustainability and low carbon construction.
A dedicated Research & Development zone within the new centre will be a hub for innovation and green manufacturers are being sought to present their innovative technologies to visiting clients, academics, diplomats and industry professionals in the R&D department.
BRE are acting as client advisor and lead in supply chain engagement on the scheme and their Director Jaya Skandamoorthy said: “This is a significant opportunity for businesses to promote their innovation and expertise to a massive and highly influential developer and wider audience in China. BRE wants to hear about the most exciting technologies out there for what promises to be an extremely high profile project.”
The BREEAM and 3 Star Green Building Standard structure will join Zaha Hadid’s Changsha Meixi Lake International Culture and Arts Centre (already under construction) in an exciting new city development in Hunan Province. Meixi Lake Eco-City will total 15 million sq m with an expected population of over 300,000 due to relocate within its boundaries.
An investment of £6bn has been made to this future eco-city which will have wide expanses of open space set around a man-made lake, vast networks of pedestrian and cycle links, and city-wide greywater recovery systems.
