Local practice presents first eco-friendly corporate campus in Salvador City, Brazil
A new Business Park by Caramelo Arquitetos Associados will occupy a site space of more than 28,000 sq m on the edge of Salvador Airport and will feature nine towers, of which two will house hotels and the other seven, corporate facilities.
The development will be divided in two different phases: the first one (expected for completion December 2013) includes two hotels and four towers; the second phase will complete the final three towers by March 2014.
Hangar Business Park was conceived to be innovative in both concept and function. It is the first corporate campus of Salvador city, a place where architecture and landscaping were planned to enable interaction between companies and clients, for making the daily lives of users and visitors easier, and at same the time, providing safety and appropriately comfortable spaces.
The rooms of the hotel towers range from 33 sq m to 845 sq m. In the five corporate towers, the communal areas are linked by a 13,000 sq m central square located over parking amenities. Within this plaza will be a landscaping programme which includes a Green Mall, and a shopping model with more than fifty commercial spaces.
The project is being conceived as the first development with the label of energetic efficiency PROCEL-EDIFICA and INMETRO in the Brazilian real-estate market. Caramelo Arquitetos Associados have adopted the following measures to guarantee a sustainable outcome: efficient lighting in order to reduce energy consumption by 80%; usage of LED lamps, as well as magnetic induction lamps; use of ecological porcelain tiles, recycled, based on the concept of humid milling, using reused water; adoption of intelligent control traffic on common hall elevators.
