BDP - Peter Drummond, CEO

Difficult market conditions in developed economies will continue to be with us for some time. We expect uncertainty and risk to be a part of working in these dramatically changing places. As we play on the world stage the level of our competition is more varied and more powerful. We have to adapt to the changes with great clarity, cohesion and determination. There are companies from around the world that are aiming at the same position, so we need to forge our own way to bring distinctiveness.

BDP has invested a great deal over the past few years in the development of its new studios in critical locations where we expect major opportunities to exist:
• The Netherlands – gateway to continental Europe
• Abu Dhabi – a stable hub in the Middle East region
• New Delhi – at the heart of the world’s largest democratic rapidly growing country
• Shanghai – a major cosmopolitan city in the world’s fastest growing major economy

A BDP studio in Canada remains a definite objective, made possible by the landing of a major project or two through the focus on one or two strong sectors, particularly healthcare.

BDP has retained its fee income at a significant level, won exciting projects in new locations, won awards, maintained positive cash and reserves, not reduced salaries, invested in technology, and continued profit sharing.
