Magical 36-villa hotel opens in Khao Lak
A short drive from Phuket International Airport is the paradisiacal sandy shore of Khao Lak; unspoilt white-sand beaches with crystal clear waters and lush green vegetation. Caressing the coastline are 36 recently opened holiday villas by Bangkok-based designers VaSLab which form the luxurious Casa de la Flora hotel.
These stunning villas range in size and style, yet all offer private pools and stunning views across the superb natural surroundings. A row of ten Beachfront Villas boast private infinity pools from which visitors may survey the nearby ocean or lounge on their secluded decking and garden areas; five Studio Pool Villas offer private wooden terraces embedded in verdant foliage; the soon-to-open Presidential Suite is spread over 130 sq m and includes a large outdoor pool, generous single bedroom and contemporary artwork throughout; whilst the elevated Casa Pool Suite has a private outdoor pool on its veranda.
Eleven Duplex Grand Pool Villas and eight Duplex Pool Suites enable larger group visits with multiple floors and individual swimming pools at ground level. Care has been taken to blur the lines between internal and external spaces, with immense panes of glass inserted in the façade facing the Andaman Sea, and natural materials such as teakwood incorporated into the largely concrete design.
Green elements of Casa de la Flora include chemical-free pools, water recycling, and use of recycled paper and aluminium furniture. Aside from the stunning villas on offer, the high-end complex also includes a library, four-room spa, restaurant, shop, and bar, promising the most exquisite amenities for resident guests. The hotel even offers the services of a personal ‘Dream Maker’ – a welcoming member of staff whose job it is to ‘help fulfill all their wishes’.
