The architects of this project emailed me and said that the mile-high tower is just gossip.

...or just a whopper?

Speculation that the revered Burj Khalifa by Skidmore Owings and Merrill is soon to be overshadowed by a mile-high Saudi Tower has been categorically rebuffed by the supposed architects, Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill.

In an exclusive statement to WAN, Kevin Nance, Director of Public Affairs for the firm said;

“Please be aware that the Internet has been a sea of unsubstantiated and largely inaccurate rumors about Kingdom Tower of late. Our firm cannot confirm the reports that we have been selected as the architect of Kingdom Tower.

I urge you to consider the fact that the selection of the architect for the project is as yet unannounced. All reports to the contrary are based on anonymous sources.

We specifically deny that we are working on a “mile-high” tower design."
