Ronald Lu & Partners completes luxury housing on Hong Kong waterfront

This project called for the design of a new luxurious residential development; it takes advantage of the site's unobstructed waterfront and creates a special sense of urban exclusivity. To harmonise with the waterfront and the hill ridge, the 9 towers are arranged in a wavy form of three clusters. A 5-storey-high sky garden in each cluster adds volumetric interest to the overall form as well as enhancing the visual permeability. The deposition accentuates the panoramic waterfront scene which also makes a distinguished architectural statement for the external elevation.

The setting back of the podium along Praya Road creates a lifted avenue where the tower entrance is located. It is shaded by row of flourishing trees which renders a unique ambience that filters through from the outside. Residents are welcomed by the double-height shuttle lobby, flooded by natural light. Balconies enjoying lush green mountain views are designed to merge with the dining area right next to the kitchen. The close proximity of these in and out spaces creates a relaxing corner for breakfast / dining, leading to a distinct modern lifestyle.

From the full curtain wall on the major facade to the large sliding doors / windows at the rear side, extending to the sheltered balcony, the whole interior space of the flat unit is flooded with natural light, greatly enhancing the spatial quality of the living environment. The double-volumed cafeteria and indoor swimming pool mark the unique ambience; such spatial elasticity filled with natural lighting and water reflection brings pleasure to the residents.
