Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer. The only hand dryer that literally scrapes water from hands
You know the feeling when some everyday product lets you down. 'I could have designed this better myself', you think. But how many of us turn our thoughts into actions?
James Dyson does. “You put your hands under other dryers, rub them a bit, then give up and wipe your hands on your trousers. It’s something that’s always annoyed me."
When you discover how other hand dryers work, you might never use one again. They suck in filthy washroom air, heat it and then blow it onto your clean hands. They are slow to dry hands and use too much energy in the process.
This limits architects and designers – do they specify hand dryers or the alternative paper towel, contributing to landfill.
Dyson engineers and scientists took three years to create an entirely new type of hand dryer solving all these problems – The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer
Other hand dryers use conventional electric motors. Bulky and fragile, their brushes wear down and emit carbon dust. The Dyson digital motor, that powers the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer, works differently. It is half the size and weight of conventional motors. With no brushes or fixed magnets, it doesn’t emit carbon and has no energy hungry heating element. It uses up to 80% less energy than warm air dryers.
The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer is fitted with a HEPA filter removing 99.9% of bacteria from the airflow, purifying it before blowing onto your hands. NSF International, the consulting body on workplace hygiene, tested the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer and certified it to comply with their strict requirements of protocol P335 for hygienic hand dryers.
Since launch, the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer has been specified in projects across the globe. Its hygiene, cost and environmental credentials mean that it has universal appeal and is not limited to a particular sector.
