Sun Valley Center of the Arts unveils design by Tom Kundig
The Sun Valley Center of the Arts has made public the design of its new art center in Ketchum Idaho. The 25,000 square foot building, designed by Tom Kundig of the Seattle- based firm Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects, will be largely transparent with a wrap around wooden sunscreen and a highly flexible floor plan accomplished by moveable gallery walls. The exterior will be built of reclaimed brick, wood, Cor-ten steel and glass. Groundbreaking for the building is expected in early 2008.
Kundig is one of this year’s recipients of an Academy Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
