Client Shetland Island Council has chosen Gareth Hoskins Architects for its new £7.1 cinema and music venue at Lerwick. With an Internal floor area of 2100m², the new venue will include a 300 seat multi-use auditorium, a 160 seat cinema,a 120 seat cinema, a café bar, recording studio, rehearsal facilities, education rooms, media spaces, support facilities and public facilities The new Cinema and Music Venue, in Lerwick will be situated on a prominent waterfront site adjacent to the historic Hays Dock area. Having designed the new RIBA Architecture Galleries at the V & A Museum and currently working on the Royal Museum redevelopment master plan, Gareth Hoskins Architects have been widely recognised recently receiving the award as the Best Young Architectural Practice in the UK.
