Concerns grow over London's planning rules

Controversial plans for a large scale redevelopment on London’s South Bank have been revealed by P&O Estates. The 460 ft high cluster development, dubbed the Three Sisters has been designed by London based architects Allies and Morrison. The scheme is expected to be given a green light due to precedent-setting (over)rulings by UK Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott on the recent Lots Road scheme and earlier Vauxhall Tower project. His intervention, with support from Mayor Ken Livingstone has raised concerns over the integrity of the capital’s tall building policy. The project will see the demolition of Elizabeth House built in the sixties by infamous architect John Poulson who was jailed for corruption.
