The competition for the new Edmonton Art Gallery in Canada has been narrowed down to four finalists: Alsop Design Ltd (London) with Quadrangle (Toronto), Arthur Erickson/Nick Milkovich (Vancouver) with Dub Architects (Edmonton), Zaha Hadid (London, UK) and Randall Stout (Los Angeles). Alsop Design Ltd’s vision, shown here follows the Gallery’s mandate to renovate the current building and add much needed space to it, by featuring an additional 30,000 square feet of space in a new structure that encloses the existing discreet two storey building. The winner will be announced after the jury recommends one of the designs to the Gallery’s Board of Governors on October 11
