Article Design Studio collaborated closely with the highly creative team at BAO that consists of husband and wife Shing and Erchen and Shing's sister Wai Ting.  The site is easily double the size of their first permanent site on Lexington Street, Soho and with it being split over two floors it was established from the outset that the two levels should have a juxtaposing aesthetic.

The ground floor is dominated by the solid oak counter dining bar and the elevations are enveloped with a natural clay plaster finish inscribed with unique arch details.  Bespoke opaque glass pendant lights hang confidently in the front of the restaurant along with black ceiling fans. A bespoke solid timber staircase leads diners down to the basement level.

In contrast to the soft textures and light of the ground floor you are brought into the heart of the restaurant with a completely open kitchen area. Diners can be seated at the aged bronze counter or take a seat at the pink upholstered banquettes which surround communal pink marble dining tables. All elevations are clad with stainless steel to envelop diners in the action of the kitchen theatre.
