An Evolution in Dry Cleaning

Pristine Fine Dry Cleaning in downtown Princeton, NJ represents a departure from your conventional dry cleaning operation. The 765 sq. ft. space would not only use an innovative, sustainable process using CO2 as a cleaning agent, they would also offer a community concierge service. They needed a design that would embody the definition of its name, reflecting purity in its materials and design, and create a new kind of dry cleaning experience.

Joshua Zinder Architecture + Design created an image that would effectively demonstrate an evolution from the industry standard. The completed space has a high-end feel, utilizing a simple palette of sustainable materials in warm wood and earth tones framed within white curvilinear elements. The custom-built reception kiosk is complemented by a hint of industrial aesthetic and supports specific functional needs, client interaction, and signage.

This kiosk is small, efficient and provides different levels of transparency to maximize screening of the clothing racks and allow for views out and through the space. Complimentary curvilinear wall features simultaneously unite and separate each of the functional elements of the project. To reflect the "green" nature of the client's cleaning process, sustainable design elements were brought to the project including energy efficient lighting, no VOC paint, no VOC concrete stain, and recycled tile.

Pristine Fine Dry Cleaning truly looks and feels like no other dry cleaning operation.
