Contemporary Loft Design in Moscow
Wednesday 23 Oct 2013
The home of a Moscow-based photographer, Loft-Style is a contemporary residential space designed by Russian architect Angelina Alekseeva. Completed in 2013, the interior design was intended to be unusual and to reflect the experiences and emotions of the photographer.
The concept was to blend "rigid forms with soft, fresh, white colours and delicate decorations" with the intention of adding a feminine accent to the apartment.
According the client's brief, the house was to be a "haven for creative thinking" so that the photographer could enjoy the sense of being "somewhere on the edge of the sky" and as a sharp contrast to the calm, pale hues of the colour scheme, striking arrangements of artificial roses and orange flowers were used to catch the eye.
Of the layout and dimensions, Alekseeva says "The contemporary Moscow property is 185 square meters. The first floor houses a common area, living room, kitchen, dressing room and bathroom. On the second private area you can find the bedroom and bathroom. The whole property is open to natural light".
