The Boston Langham sought to redesign their lobby with a design that would relocate and reconfigure the guest experience of the reception and concierge desks into an elegant, well lit, timeless space that would individually accommodate the numerous daily lobby functions. The new 11,000 sq ft lobby includes a concierge desk with a stunning glass feature wall, four individual reception pods clad in burled wood, and a world class Champagne Bar and Lounge. The design connects to the history of the building as an originally repurposed 1920s designed Federal Reserve Bank.

Langham guests are greeted by two ten foot LED diameter circular chandeliers from Australia that exhibit sinuous curves and provide a lobby focal point. A backdrop painted by a local artist in collaboration with the designer and framed by artisan cast glass creates an entry feature wall, while fibre optic "points of light" set the wall in motion, characterising the hotel's close proximity to the Boston harbour. The concierge desk maintains a quality of elegance through its dark chocolate stone transaction top, its sparkling, creamy and top lit Kinon front panel, and metal detailing.

The hotel's reception area is highly customized and tailored to the hotel's functional requirements. Each individual burled walnut wood reception pod is set amidst a ceiling-lit, sparkling Kinon wall, welcoming guests and providing a personalised check in experience. The elegant Champagne Bar and Lounge is located directly off the larger lobby. Multiple unique seating areas provide elegant spaces for intimate small or group gatherings, and offer an inviting space to enjoy food and beverages during the day and evening. The custom furniture selection introduces soft, neutral coloured wing back chairs with unexpected fabrics paired with rich walnut wood. The neutral colour palette of the ceiling features a reflective champagne-coloured surface that increases the height of the spaces while maintaining the warmth and tone of the Langham brand.
