The Manser Practice was commissioned by Berkeley Homes to design the penthouse apartment of their new residential development at Caspian Wharf in Bow, East London.
The penthouse spans the 12th and 13th floors and the starting point of the brief was to maximize the panoramic views, to take in Canary Wharf in the south, the city of London, the Limehouse Cut canal and Olympic Park in the north.
The apartment has been designed with strong lines and symmetry to make optimum use of space and light. The entire top floor southern elevation comprises of a balcony with large sliding glass doors that link the interior and exterior spaces.
On the 12th floor, the bedrooms are designed so that the beds overlook the balconies and have views to Canary Wharf. In the main bathroom, a free standing bath sits adjacent to a full height window overlooking East London.
Berkley Homes asked The Manser Practice to create a contemporary and stylish apartment which would appeal to a Canary Wharf worker.
The selected interior finishes reflect a love of natural materials - solid walnut, stone, glass and marble. Throughout the apartment the interior design is simple, elegant and finished by skilled craftsmen. Leading design companies have selected the furniture, artwork and accessories.
