MIMA Collection
Monday 21 Aug 2017

A new, British designer-maker John Eadon, will be launching his first new furniture collection, MIMA, at London Design Fair 21–24 September 2017.

The ‘Spindle Furniture’ designed for the MIMA collection takes inspiration from the lightweight structure of Windsor chairs, creating an open and minimal aesthetic.

The open forms allow light and shade to play among the different elements. The designs were also led by an influence of plants and how we and our furniture interact with them.

The designs are born from a playful process which starts in the workshop and sketchbook. Alternating from sketched ideas to roughing out parts, very quickly assembling and re-assembling mock-ups, evolving the piece, it's form and functionality, as it progresses. Mock-ups turn into prototypes and to final products, conceiving new ideas and designs along the way.

Pieces produced for the MIMA Collection are tactile and handmade to a high standard of craftsmanship, showing joints and embracing the natural character of the British hardwoods used. Designs made in the John Eadon workshop are made to order, making it possible to tailor pieces to individual requirements or to commission a new bespoke piece.

The MIMA Collection in a choice of solid British Hardwoods, includes:
