The Edgy Tile Collection
KAZA Concrete Monday 02 Mar 2015

The Edgy collection for Kaza Concrete consists of two tiles, one being three dimensional, the other two-and-a-half dimensional. The aim behind the collection by Patrycja Domanska and Tania Lightfoot was to provide an alternative to the flat, two dimensional walls in bathrooms and other living quarters. The tiles give structure to smooth walls in both the public and private sector, can be utilised in interior or exterior surfaces, and can either cover walls partially as a visual feature or entirely.

The three dimensional form is made up of asymmetrical surfaces 'folding' onto one plane to form a hexagonal base. By playing with concave and convex planes and using them to accentuate one another an incredibly arresting visual was created.

The side surfaces of the two and half dimensional form imitate the three dimensional one, giving it a playful character despite the flat top surface, and they provide another visual plane for the viewer. The Edgy tiles are available in white, black, dove grey, dark pink and a dusky pastel pink; the mix of patterns and colours ensures a wide range of visual possibilities can be created with these tiles.

The Edgy tile's asymmetry enables the designer to create a multitude of patterns, allowing flexibility and individuality. The quality of the product also ensures a wide range of use: from decorative surfaces, guidance systems or even integration into corporate identities.
