SHOOTING LODGE, DEVON
Thursday 24 Nov 2011
The design brief was loose, but one which required the combination of practicality and excellent hospitality, both of which are crucial in making the experience for the client guests a memorable one.
Up to 18 guns to be received at any one time. Spacial planning and layouts were considered carefully, before furniture, decorative accessories and lighting could be sourced. Practicality was key to the design of the space, in order to present an inviting, relaxed area at the same time as dealing well with the practical aspects of muddy boots, wet weather gear and dogs. The fireplace was moved and redesigned, also creating a warm bench outside for smokers. The boot room, drying room and cloakrooms were also redesigned using bespoke joinery. FF&E design and procurement was sourced and procured by de hasse.
