‘Yue' is a Chinese word for internal happiness. The restaurant takes on a high-end but under-stated luxury approach to further express the philosophy of this resort hotel in China.
The interior design is an impression of a modern Chinese ink painting whereas the rich variation of Chinese ink strokes and calligraphy are being 3-dimensionally expressed onto walls, floors, and the interior perspectives.
The entrance of the restaurant is transparent through glass. Guests are welcomed by a grey marble doorway and the elegantly detailed chromium lotus door pull handles. The extension of the natural stone wall and water from the exterior porch into the interior foyer diminished the line of entrance so as to prelude the joy of fine dining starting from the outside.
Privacy at a high end dining facility is important in China. Therefore, several private dining rooms for different group sizes occupies most of the space in this restaurant. The passage leading towards the major private dining rooms is elegantly separated by a row of translucent silk embroidered panels. Guests would be led through the corridor at ease enjoying the singing birds sewn on the silk panels and, at the same time, seeing the silhouettes of activities in the dining hall beyond the screen panels.
The interior of the private dining rooms speaks further to the characteristics of Chinese ink in tones of grey and white. It is accentuated with a sprinkle of pink in furniture and accessories whereas leaving the fine gourmet to be the highlight of the dining event.
