The French fashion label first appeared on the UK high street in 2010 and has rapidly expanded with the aim of ‘bringing back chic to the streets'. The 59 sq m store in Kingston was finishedin September 2011 by Portview after five week fit out.
The Portview team was responsible for bringing Boxco2's design concept to life. The existing unit was stripped back to its base shell which revealed a number of hidden beams that altered the anticipated shape of the store. Portview had to therefore carefully adapt elements of the fit out, particularly the mechanical and electrical works to accommodate these beams and ensure that Boxco2's design could be delivered without any alterations.
A new ceiling with a perimeter lighting raft and directional spotlights were also installed by Portview as well as a black resin floor designed to give a seamless appearance. This meant that three days had to be factored into the build programme to allow the floor to dry and ensure no imperfections.
To enable graphics to be displayed around the store, rectangular light boxes were built into each of the walls which the visuals could slide into. The bespoke changing rooms were also created by Portview who sourced the specialist and symmetrical leather panelling which appears on the walls of the rooms.Established in 1975, Portview Fit-Out Limited is a fit-out specialist that works with the UK's leading brands in the retail, leisure, banking and hotel sectors, including the Arcadia Group, Arsenal Football Club, Bank of Ireland and Hilton Hotels.
