Toro Toro Restaurant, Dubai, UAE

Toro Toro is a Latin American Pan Restaurant where the emphasis is on fire, drama and theatre, set over two levels. The envelope is dark and moody - black flooring with a textured hide look and walls in a rich polished plaster.
Guests are greeted by a pair of real-life sized bronze bull sculptures in the double storey entrance lobby space. A giant feature wall studded with fire screens as well as lit ceiling domes cast out a warm orange glow in the otherwise theatrical space. From behind this a back-lit onyx clad show kitchen protrudes into the space and hints at what the chefs have on offer for the night.
Details throughout the restaurant, such as large bone horn wall displays, cow hide upholstered waiter stations as well as lamps with horn bases, are inspired by the origin of the menu. Dark cages strategically connecting two levels create pockets of interest, such as the wine cellar which punctures through the space, acting not only as a wine cellar, but also as a private dining room.
Two staircases housed in over-sized cages with dramatic horn pendants lead the guests up to the mezzanine level where the bar and lounge is located. Here the main focus is on the long back-lit onyx bar with extensive mirror-framed wall with a repeated reflection of the fire screens, which creates a strong design element in the space. This area has groups of plush comfortable sofa seating where guests can have a vast choice of Brazilian cocktails and tantalising nibbles from the Tapas menu.
