Drws y Coed ( door to the woods) is an emerging brand that designs and manufactures lighting products from plywood and local Welsh timber.
Focusing on sustainability and micro manufacturing opportunities provided by digital technologies, the products are highly patterned creating light effects akin to those experienced in the woods.
Hannah Wardle studied BA Fine Art Textiles at Goldsmiths College London followed by an MSc in Light & Lighting at the Barttlet UCL, before working with light as an architectural lighting designer for 6 years before becoming a designer maker.
Combining design skills gained in architectural lighting with making skills and a love for pattern from textiles she is working on a range of product from the domestic to architectural scale.
Her passion for light began as a child living next to the woods.
