490 is a compact, elegant desk lamp that utilises the latest in LED technology to create a highly functional and energy efficient luminaire.

Striking design

The clean, simple form grew from a desire to strip the desk lamp back to its very essence, keeping the components and manufacturing processes to an absolute minimum to reduce its environmental footprint.

Cutting edge light-source

The lamp uses a highly efficient 3W LED that has a life-time rating of around 40,000 hours. If used for 6 hours a day, this equates too approximately

18 years of use. The wide beam angle produced by the unlensed LED achieves an excellent spread of consistent, glare-free light. Three-stage dimming, controlled via a discrete touch sensor, offers flexibility to the user.

Materials

Laser-cut from 1.5mm sheet steel, the lamp body is formed from just four 90 degree folds and powder coated for a durable finish. The fabric cable in red or black adds a tactile contrast to the sharp lines of the body. All parts are easily disassembled at end of life for recycling or refurbishment.

Standard finishes

Powder-coated pure white or quartz grey, with red or black cable.
