a monthly round-up of the world's best interiors and design stories
Remede III is a textile collection that combines soothing images with durability, for healthcare and beyond.
Remede III is the third collection in a solution-dyed nylon textile line designed for Architex International, one of the leading commercial textile distributors in North America. Like its successful predecessors, RemedeIII has been designed to withstand the abusive wear typically inflicted on textiles in hospitals and healthcare facilities, due to their stringent cleaning practices. Hence, all the patterns are woven in 100 percent bleach-cleanable solution-dyed nylon, with special finishes to prevent stains and facilitate easy clean up.
But there is a soft "sea-side" to this highly durable new collection. The designers envisioned the elements of a coastal environment as positive images for the healing environment in a healthcare facility. The fresh colour palettes and ocean-inspired patterns of Remede III draw on seaside themes, earning textile names such as Coral, Wind Wave, and Seabed. The collection offers a balanced mix of colour, scale and detail to accommodate design coordination.
Since a key factor in materials for the healthcare market is durability, it is not unusual to find that products designed for hospitals and clinics have functionality in other venues. While initially commissioned and conceived for healthcare applications, this "coastal collection" of soothing hues and natural images transcends specialisation with universal appeal.
