Google launches 3D model function for mapping

Geo Reference Model (GRM), created in collaboration with UV Animation, is a new solution which helps the visualization of a project on the actual geographical location. This is a complete 3D model on the location, which can be seen from any angle or elevation. Using the specialist software, it can be rotated, zoomed in to any part of project. This model will have a very small file size facilitating easy and faster communication and is stored in Google for wider access.

Aimed at architects, developers, builders, infrastructure companies, GRM file is click and play. Google provide a (.KMZ format) file which can be stored in both the client’s website and Google 3D warehouse. Simply clicking this file will open Google earth and orient itself on the location.
