RIBA appoints Peter Mathias as trustee

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has appointed Peter Mathias to its Board of Trustees.

Mathias, of international firm Holder Mathias, has been made one of the RIBA's 13 trustees, who have responsibility for overseeing the fiduciary duties, finances and business direction of the RIBA and its subsidiary companies, including RIBA Trust, RIBA Enterprises and RIBA Professional Services.

The RIBA is the UK body for architecture and the architectural profession. It has 40,500 members worldwide and provides training, technical services, education and representation of the profession in the UK and internationally. Its Stirling Prize is one of the leading prizes in architecture. Mathias will take up his role from April 2010, for a period of two years.
