CTBUH World Conference starts today

Mumbai plays host to the CTBUH 2010 World Conference - 'Remaking Sustainable Cities in the Vertical Age' as of today. The conference will last for three days and will focus on sustainability for existing, rather than new cities considering the need for cities 'to become denser with more concentrated centers for living'.

A total of 467 delegates and 224 companies are set to attend the events at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Centre in Mumbai and will include architectural associations from around the world, high profile architecture and engineering practices such as NBBJ and SOM, and an international selection of academics.

Discussions will range from “Supertalls: The Next-Generation” by SOM's William Baker, to “The Remaking of Mumbai in the Sustainable Age” by Metropolitan Commissioner, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority , Mumbai, Shri Ratnaker Gaikwad.
