UIA and WGBC collaborate

The International Union of Architects (UIA) and World Green Building Council (WGBC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the UIA Council meeting in Sydney, Australia on January 18.

This protocol defines the terms of the collaboration between the two organisations, which have decided to create a partnership and jointly contribute to improving energy efficiency and to reduce emissions of greenhouse gas in major cities worldwide. Through regular exchange of information UIA and WorldGBC will work to foster a green built environment in terms of architectural and urban design and management, and to contribute in creating a sustainable carbon neutral society.

WorldGBC is an international coalition of National Green Building Councils that represents the entire building industry. It provides an international forum and offers powerful and proven tools that help accelerate the transformation of the market to a new generation of high performance buildings, and transform the skills and knowledge of the building industry as a whole.
