Perkins + Will acquires Canadian firm

While many design firms are scaling back, Perkins + Will is buying up studios and expanding its base. The firm’s latest acquisition is the Toronto-based Shore Tilbe Irwin & Partners, an 80-person design practice known for its expertise in sports and recreation facilities. Perkins + Will, which maintains studios throughout North American, Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, is recognized for its work in the healthcare, education and corporate office markets. The merger will give Perkins + Will a second office in Canada and open the door to new markets. The new firm will be known as Shore Tilbe Perkins + Will.
