Studio Daniel Libeskind was honoured by the AIA New York Chapter and the Center for Architecture Foundation with the 2008 President’s Award at last night’s Heritage Ball. The firm was presented with the award for its significant contributions to the design of major international cultural buildings and urban projects.
Studio Daniel Libeskind was presented with the award on Thursday, October 30 at the Heritage Ball 2008, a black-tie gala where nearly 1,300 people from the design, construction, engineering and real estate professions came together to acknowledge those making an important impact in their respective industries.
“Studio Daniel Libeskind is delighted to be recognized by these two venerable organizations,” said Daniel Libeskind, Owner and Architect. “It is truly a privilege to be in the company of the other honorees who have proven that they are dedicated to making a difference in their chosen fields.”
Other honourees included MaryAnne Gilmartin, Executive Vice President, Commercial Development and Director of Corporate Leasing and Business Development for Forest City Ratner Companies; Commissioner Shaun Donovan of New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development and The Robin Hood Foundation, an organization that funds and supports innovative poverty-fighting organizations in New York City.
