Thom Mayne appointed to Obama's team

Pritzker Prize winner Thom Mayne of Morphosis Architects has been appointed by President Obama to serve on the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities. 25 Arts and Humanities leaders will form the committee including Vogue Editor Anna Wintour and Hollywood actor Forest Whitaker.

Set up in 1982, the committee is tasked with initiating and supporting key programs; recognising excellence in the fields of arts and humanities; and encouraging private-public partnerships around those disciplines. The committee will work closely with the three primary cultural agencies – National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
