Five nominees for the Building Passion Woman of the Year Award have been announced. Building Passion is a book of 100+1 women who work in the building business with a specific goal - to make them more visible.
The nominees for the Netherlands prize are Maartje Lammers (24H Architecture, Rotterdam), Anjelica Cicilia (KOW, The Hague), Sabine van den Boom (Heddes Bouw, Hoorn), Michelle Prins (DEC, Volker Wessels, Amersfoort) and Elphi Nelissen (Nelissen Ingenieursbureau, Eindhoven).
The jury chairman, Harm Tilman and the four other jury members: Heleen Mees, Myrthe Hilkens, Ellen Sander and Hans Lensvelt had a difficult time choosing these five nominee's. They acknowledged that every woman in Building Passion was well worth the nomination and finding the terms they all could agree on started a substantial debate. They accomplished the task by setting up an initial list of criteria to choose the nominee's and the final winner. The names above make up the final proposal for the title. Criteria for the winner include innovation, integration, future mindedness, sustainability awareness, age and development possibilities and a willingness to fight for and accomplish their aims.
The winner will be announced during the book presentation on December 8th, 2009 in the Lijm- & Cultuur Fabriek in Delft, The Netherlands.
