SMWM, one of the largest women owned designed firms in the US, has announced it will merge with global powerhouse Perkins + Will. The combined company will have 105 employees in San Francisco and will operate under the moniker of Perkins + Will. The San Francisco based SMWM will move its 40 employees to Perkins + Will’s recently expanded China Basin offices. SMWM’s New York staff will move into Perkins + Will’s Manhattan location.

SMWM, which has a reputation for major planning and urban design projects, will give Perkins + Will better positioning in the San Francisco market as well as in urban design projects.
