Pascall+Watson to assist station concourse design for the Shard/London Bridge

Pascall+Watson architects has been appointed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop to assist with the new station concourse for the Shard, the £424 million skyscraper currently under construction at London Bridge. Pascall+Watson was specifically brought in on this project, due to its expertise in maintaining operations of stations, during construction periods.

At 1,016 ft (310m) and with 100 levels, the Shard will be the tallest building in Western Europe when it completes in 2012.

Pascall+Watson Architects, working alongside project managers Turner & Townsend, structural engineer WSP, MEP engineer ARUP and contractor Mace are to deliver the new £25m station concourse which forms part of the London Bridge Quarter planning obligations.

Also included in the design scope are the critical enabling works required to maintain a fully operational station throughout the duration of the phased construction works.
