Forest City Ratner the developer of Atlantic Yards, a massive mixed-use project in Brooklyn that will have as its centerpiece an $800 million professional basketball arena for the New Jersey Nets, has tapped New York City- based ShoP Architects to design the new arena. SHoP, who will work on the project with arena design specialist Ellerbe Beckett, replaces Frank Gehry who was dropped from the project earlier this year due to rising costs.
Renderings of the new facility will be released later this month.
