Sweden has announced the founding of the Sweden Green Building Council involving twelve organisations whose aim is to influence decision-makers, spread knowledge and develop tools in order to improve buildings’ environmental effects.
The organisations responsible are Vasakronan, Akademiska hus, Skanska, NCC, IVL, White, SEB, the city of Stockholm, the city of Malmö, Sweco, DTZ and Fastighetsägarna (the Swedish Property Federation).
A CEO will be appointed in the autumn and Monica von Schmalensee, Stockholm office manager at White Arkitekter has been chosen to Chair the Council.
Over the coming months the organisation will build on its relations throughout the construction and real estate sectors and devise the standards of practice.
