Work underway to expand Pier C at Copenhagen Airport

Construction has begun on the schmidt hammer lassen-designed extension to Pier C at Copenhagen Airport. The team of schmidt hammer lassen and contractor MOE won the project through a competition in 2013 which was launched to combat the increased passenger flow through Copenhagen Airport.

The airport has seen an increase in the number of passengers flying from or to countries outside the EU and such journeys put added pressure on airport resources in relation to the control of entry papers and passports. As such, all of these journeys take place from a departure area called Pier C.

The expansion project provides an additional 5,000 sq m of space at this venue, including three new gates and associated passenger lounges. Construction is due to complete by the end of 2015.
