Four firms compete for 80,000-seat Lusail Stadium

Online reports state that Foster + Partners, David Chipperfield Architects, Mossessian & Partners and Mangera Yvars Architects have been shortlisted in a competition to design the Lusail stadium for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Architects’ Journal reported that the four practices are working with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy after the original tender process was abandoned when the competition proposals did not ‘reflect modern Qatari design and culture’.

An official statement on the competition results is yet to be made.
