Five teams shortlisted for San Francisco parklands competition

A shortlist of five teams has been released for the design and programming of 10 acres of new parkland in San Francisco, US. The competition has been run by The Presidio Trust, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the National Park Service, inviting international teams to devise designs for an area of parkland adjacent to the Crissy Field Center with associated facilities and grounds for youth programmes and a 10 acre park development atop a bluff in The Presidio.

The five teams are:

“The response of these internationally acclaimed design teams is a testament to the potential of this site, which is one of the most iconic and beautiful in the world,” said Craig Middleton, Presidio Trust Executive Director. “We look forward to working with them and with the community to create a breathtaking new place to welcome the public to the Presidio.” The public have also been invited to submit concept designs for the development.
