UIA2014 Durban to be held 3-7 August 2014

The Union Internationale des Architectes (UIA) has released further details of the UIA2014 Durban congress this summer. The event will run from 3-7 August in the South African city of Durban, bringing together architects, students and industry professionals to debate the theme of ‘architecture OTHERWHERE’ and underlying themes of Resilience, Economy and Values.

Speakers include Toyo Ito, Francis Kere, Rahul Mehorotra, Sindile Ngonyama and Wally Serote, who will be giving keynote presentations in connection about critical built environment issues faced by South Africa and the international community. Three major infrastructure projects will be launched during UIA2014 Durban: The activation of a section of Pixley Ka Seme Street; The activation of the Rivertown Precinct; and the Pocket Parks development.
