Three teams shortlisted for Triumfalnaya Square redevelopment

Three finalist teams have been shortlisted in a competition to redevelop Triumfalnaya Square in Moscow. ST raum a. Landschaftsarchitektur, Buromoscow and Wowhaus were selected from a pool of 44 entries. The competition challenged entrants to consider the architectural concept of Triumfalnaya Square, taking into account its historical development, conservation status, intensity of pedestrian traffic and functional characteristics.

Sergei Kuznetsov, First Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Committee for Architecture and Urban Development has announced that negotiations with the technical contractor for the project will held in the next few weeks. He continued: “Over that period, we’re also planning to modify the finalist projects somewhat, in terms of how lighting sources and street furniture should be arranged and how much space should be given to vegetation.”
