Klippan Award goes to Belgian firm

Robbrecht en Daem have been awarded the Klippan Award 2008 for their conversion of a former dairy into Guest Quarters for Musicians and Music Room in Gaasbeek, near Brussels.

The jury, who gathered in the Spanish city of Avila, are said to have valued the combination of surprise and modesty and the solution of a difficult task which joins together acoustic and geometry, with a light spirit.

The jury consisted of José Ignacio Linazasoro, Adriano Cornoldi, Victoriano Sainz, Francesco dal Co, Johan Celsing, José Félix Ortiz, Carlos Puente, Enrique Sanz and Peter St. John.

The prize will be given November 8th in the Sweden city of Klippan where the award takes its name from.
