Autodesk releases multiple update notices

Software firm Autodesk has announced a number of newly available solutions and updates to existing products for the AEC industry. Autodesk hosted its annual University event in Las Vegas this week, bringing together thousands of AEC professionals and Autodesk users to hone their skills and learn about new developments in the industry. Content from the international event can be found here.

Autodesk has announced the closure of its acquisition of Graitec (producer of CAD / CAE software for the civil engineering and construction industries) and the acquisition of technology assets from UK-based Azalient (producer of software for simulation modelling).

Other notices include: the merger of Autodesk Dynamo and Autodesk DesignScript to create a clean and modern UI with the ultimate responsiveness, visual feedback and tight integration with Revit; Autodesk FormIt now includes a web-based application that runs on numerous browsers for Windows and Mac; the launch of Autodesk Structural Bridge Design; and the development of a new BIM 360 mobile app for iPad. Visit the Autodesk website for more information and further notices.

“We are expanding the reach of BIM on multiple fronts - into conceptual design on one end of the spectrum and into construction on the other. Our advancements are empowering professionals to move from designing objects and simply representing their ideas in 2D and 3D to designing in context while optimising and better predicting the performance of their designs,” said Amar Hanspal, Autodesk senior vice president of Information Modeling and Platform Products.
