Construction underway on Bruner/Cott's Viridian facility in Boston

The $200m Viridian Complex by Bruner/Cott & Associates has begun construction in Boston with completion destined for 2015. The residential complex is anchored by 10,000 sq ft of prime retail space which draws the eye through floor-to-ceiling windows. Two residential towers will soar above this base unit, offering 342 residences of which more than half will be ‘affordable’.

These affordable homes will be restricted to 700 sq ft or less, with a blend of ‘Micro’ studio units, 485 sq ft ‘Metro’ units with one bedroom, and standard apartment units consisting of one, two or three bedrooms. As Simeon Bruner, Founding Principal of Bruner/Cott explains: “The design responds directly to the diverse residential desires of the community today while also acknowledging the surrounding historic urban fabric in a light-hearted, modern way.”

Appealing to a range of potential residents from students to young professionals and families, Viridian is a LEED Gold registered complex, designed with energy-efficient mechanical systems, environmentally-friendly responsible materials and more than 300 bicycle spaces.
