15 days left to support 'musical architecture' scheme in New Orleans

A partnership between New Orleans Airlift and local artist Swoon is looking for backing on crowdfunding website Kickstarter. The ongoing project centres on the creation of a musical village where interactive instruments are incorporated into the design of a series of structures, enabling local people and visitors to the area to engage with the architecture or enjoy professional performances from handpicked artists.

The team began their journey with a smaller project two years ago called Dithyrambalina, where a 150-year-old property was revamped into a playable instrument.

This year, New Orleans Airlift and Swoon are looking to create an entire village of musical architectural expressions, beginning with a cluster of five buildings which can be expanded over time. It is hoped that the first of these musical houses will be ready for a public unveiling in May 2014, with the remainder completed by autumn 2014.

There are 15 days left to fund this musical scheme (as of 15 October) and you can find out more here on Kickstarter.
