€40m Hospital Logistic Centre in Belfort now onsite

Construction is underway on a €40m Hospital Logistic Centre in Belfort, France with engineering from Mott MacDonald for Vinci Construction France.

Due to be completed in 2015 the centre will support an 800-bed hospital next door and five surrounding medical facilities. Over a 14,000 sq m area, the new centre will accommodate laundry, kitchen, warehouse and pharmacy services, admin offices and maintenance technical rooms.

Mott MacDonald’s project director Erwann Pilé said: “One of the most interesting aspects of this project is the use of automated guided vehicles which will transit drug treatments, meals and laundry through an underground gallery from the logistic areas to the new hospital. The use of such automatic robots is currently being used in health and industrial facilities.”
