Chinese construction issues addressed in keynote speech at Real Estate Summit

The keynote speech at the 6th China Industrial Real Estate Summit in Shanghai was given by partners at logon architecture design Wang Fang and Frank Krueger. The two partners focused their attention on issues of construction in China, with stories of less than satisfactory building quality ever more common on Chinese soil.

Krueger stated: “We want to work closer together with both local governments and developers to not only improve construction quality but to improve the overall quality of life in China.” logon architecture design currently operates under a strict system where each construction project must meet quality standards set internally.

China is an “extremely fragmented real estate market where most developers reply on a build it and sell it model to drive growth”, explained Krueger. “This coupled with most home buyers aged between 20-29 years old where their main buying concerns are price and location; and where apartment layout is perceived to be more important than apartment quality” are all factors that have led to China’s current market situation.
